Who leaves ‘Dancing With The Stars’ tonight?

The semi-finals of “Dancing With The Stars” on Monday answered a few questions for all of us.

The judges really want to see Mya in the finals. They only want Donny Osmond there if he can deliver enough viewers (and voters) to make it worth their while. And Kelly Osbourne and Joanna Krupa can fight it out in the alley behind the dance studio.

At least that’s what we took away from the scores handed out on Monday. But what did you, the voting viewer, think? For after Mya, it’s really a game of musical chairs for the last two spots in the finals.

Call us crazy, but we’ve got our hunchome, you may indeed call us crazy.)  hes. (And after you see who we picked to go Click through the slide show and see whether or not you agree on who think is safe, and who we think will head home tonight.

Monday highlights: Beginnings and near endings

November 16th, 2009, 10:20 am by The Watcher

Some highlights from the evening’s schedule:

Jean-Cristophe NovelliJust beginning: At 10 p.m Bravo launches “Chef Academy,” starring French/English cooking sensation Jean-Cristophe Novelli. The show follows Novelli as he comes to Los Angeles to launch a cooking school with nine aspiring chefs as his students. It sounds like “Hell’s Kitchen” where everyone gets to stay.

Almost done: “Dancing With the Stars” begins its semifinal week on ABC at 8. We’re down to four couples, and the Watcher figures Kelly Osbourne & Louis Van Amstel have about a 1 percent chance of competing next week.

dwts_blog

dwts_slideshowWith Pedro felled by the flu, I as guest-blogger am stepping in to predict what will happen tonight on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Just two weeks until one lucky celebbrity is awarded the ninth Mirror Ball Trophy. But first we have the business of sending home one more unlucky (or untalented) celebrity before next week’s semifinals.

In our assessment of Monday’s show, we recap the two dances performed by each contestant and offer our predictions as to whether he or she is in danger of the boot. Check back after 7 p.m. Pacific time to see if we were correct.

Find out who got booted from ‘Dancing With The Stars’

November 3rd, 2009, 7:03 pm by PETER LARSEN, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

7_dwtsslideshowAnd then there were five.

Two more stars got the boot from “Dancing With The Stars” on Tuesday, one of the lowest-scoring celebrity, the other the judges pick from the second- and third-worst scoring couple of the week.

It wasn’t hard to pick a bottom three, we thought. But chosing from among one dancer who really can’t dance, one who had an unusually sharp decline this week (with his partner out sick), and one who may have been about to discover that cute and a famous dad don’t guarantee you’ll dance here forever.

To find out out which two stars left the show, read on….

Who leaves ‘Dancing With The Stars’ tonight?

November 3rd, 2009, 1:41 pm by PETER LARSEN, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

7_dwtsslideshowTime once again to play Kick That Celebrity Off The Show!

Yes indeed, it’s “Dancing With The Stars” results show night, and as with last week, tonight we’ll see two stars snuffed out. One by you, the viewing public, and one by the judges after a dance-off between the second- and third-worst scoring couples of the week.

We’re pretty sure we can pick the bottom three — we had ‘em all last week — but guessing which two of those go is a trickier task. Still, it’s a job and we do it. Click on through the slideshow to see how we rank and rate the dancers. And, of course, pick two to leave the show.

Lacey Schwimmer out tonight on ‘DWTS’

November 2nd, 2009, 4:40 pm by The Watcher

Will they dance again? The flu strikes again on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Two weeks after Derek Hough had to sit out the competition, Lacey Schwimmer will stay on the sidelines tonight because of illness.

Her partner, Mark Dacascos, will perform with Anna Trebunskaya, whom we last saw trying to lead the giant Chuck Liddell around the dance floor.

The Watcher sees this as a major blow to Mark’s already slim chances. Lacey is popular with the audience (She was one of the four  chosen in last season’s Design-A-Dance), while Anna has yet to make much headway in the competition. With two dancers leaving this week, Mark’s outlook seems even grimmer than before.

'Trauma' on life support

Some vieiwing highlights for the evening:

The long goodbye: “Trauma” begins its countdown toward extinction with tonight’s episode, the first since NBC gave the show its walking papers. The network has said “Trauma” will complete its current 13-episode order. If you enjoy the show, watch it while you can. 8 p.m. on NBC.

The short goodbye: The World Series could be over tonight. A victory by the Yankees ends the series.  A victory by the Phillies means another game Wednesday night. The broadcast of Game 5 begins at 5 p.m. on Fox.

The beat goes on: “Dancing With the Stars” enters week seven of the competition, which must mean we’re down to, what, 30 couples? Actually, only seven are left, and Tuesday is scheduled for another double elimination. Good luck, Michael Irvin.
