“Dancing With the Stars” cut its five remaining couples down to four on Tuesday night, setting the lineup for next week’s semifinals.
That meant the of the road for one of the celebs that had survived seven previous weeks of eliminations. To find out who got the boot, read on.
The music, and dancing, stopped Tuesday night for former child pop star Aaron Carter, who was eliminated Tuesday along with partner Karina Smirnoff. Carter who had landed in the bottom two last week despite high scores, seemed destined to be voted off after finishing tied for the bottom of the judges’ leader board this week.
TV personality and rock star daughter Kelly Osbourne, the other celeb in the bottom two, moved on to the seminfals with partner Louis van Amstel.
Donny Osmond might have been in some peril after his combined score of 50 tied for the lowest of the week. However, decades in the spotlight (going back to his days as a tween heartthrob in the early ’70s) means he has a large and adoring public to vote for him and partner Kym Johnson.
Joanna Krupa and Mya were declared safe in the show’s opening minutes.
Joanna was an early favorite who failed to impress the judges with her first dance this week, but rallied with a futuristic paso doble choreographed by her partner, Derek Hough.
Mya’s combined score of 59 (including the season’s first perfect score) definitely established her and partner Dmitry Chaplin as front-runners. Mya is clearly the strongest dancer in this season’s crop, but that’s not always enough. Just ask the evening’s return guest Sabrina Bryan, who was voted off at mid-season despite her obvious talent.
Besides Bryan’s onetime return to the show with ex-partner Mark Ballas, Tuesday’s show included performances by crooner Michael Buble and British reality competition sensation Susan Boyle.
