Some of you may recall that a long time ago - way back in 2008 - the fifth season of “Top Chef” was in full swing.

After an extended holiday break, the show gets back to business of chopping, battering and deep frying the worst of its competitors each week.

You also may recall - the Watcher certainly didn’t; I had to look it up - that 11 of the original 17 contestants were still in the mix, the judges having given the gift of no elimination at the end the last episode we saw.
