What is it about certain “Saturday Night Live” alumni whom we loved on the show but found annoying once they left?

Rob Schneider certainly tops the list, but the Watcher would also include Chris Kattan, Adam Sandler and David Spade.

For those who disagree on the Spade front, his series “Rules of Engagement” will return to Monday nights March 2, replacing “Worst Week” in the 9:30 slot. 

Despite the Spade antipathy, the Watcher must concede that “Rules” is a much better show than “Worst Week.” It covers very familiar erritory, but manages a few laughs along the beaten path.

“Worst Week” is not cancelled; it simply finished its production run. Whether there will be a second season is undecided.
