“The Amazing Race” wraps up its 13th season Sunday, but we won’t have to wait long for the next edition.
CBS will start season 14 on Sunday Feb. 15.
Last year, the network had declared its intention to turn TAR into a once-a-year affair, but its ratings this season have held steady while most of the rest of the TV world is in decline. Thus, in a rare move for any network, viewer loyalty is rewarded.
In other CBS winter news:
* Season 18 of “Survivor” - “Survivor: Brazil” according to the web site Survivor Maps - will start Feb. 12.
* “Flashpoint,” the Canadian police drama that started this summer, will take the 9 p.m. Friday slot beginning Jan. 9.
* “The Game Show in My Head” will premiere Jan. 3. Sort of a cross between “Punk’d” and “Fear Factor,” the series is, appropriately enough, produced by Ashton Kutcher and hosted by Joe Rogan. That CBS is putting it on Saturdays should tell you what the network really thinks of it: a device to steal some “Cops” viewers.
