The Watcher hasn’t had much to say about HGTV’s “Design Star” series this summer, because I’ve grown bored with it.

“Design Star” seems to suffer from a certain laziness - from the casting to the challenges to the efforts by the designers themselves - and if its own people don’t care about it, why should we?

Still, the choice of the next HGTV host falls to us viewers, so why not pick the one we’d prefer to see again.

There’s Matt, who’s way too enthusiastic, or Jennifer, who cries way too much. Stylistically, they’re both generic contemporary.

The Watcher’s choice? Neither. But we’re betting the viewers go with Matt. If you’re interested in voting, the deadline is Wednesday morning.
