Christina Machamer took the crown in season four of “Hell’s Kitchen” last night, defeating Louis Petrozza in the finale with her astonishing high-end menu of cheeseburgers, steak and a sundae.
That will no doubt wow them at Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood, where Christina will be “executive chef” - the prize she claimed on the show.
What “executive chef” means in this case was not explained.
Typically, an executive chef runs the kitchen at a restaurant. The term is synonymous with “chef de cuisine” - and GR at the LWH already has one of those. Andy Cook, a veteran of the Ramsay chain, is running the food operation.
Will Christina be the first “executive chef” whose job is chopping onions? More likely, she’ll be bought out. “Hell’s Kitchen” repeatedly informed us that the executive chef job was worth $250,000 - not per year, in total. We won’t be surprised if Christina takes money and heads off to get the experience she clearly needs.
