Feel like spending three months on your own in the Alaskan wilderness?

Bernice and Greg Pierson of Huntington Beach did. The outcome of their adventure is the subject of an excellent new series on Discovery, “The Alaska Experiment.”

The Piersons and eight others were dispersed at four remote locations, given minimal supplies and wished good luck. How they cope with the cold, the isolation and the bears forms the dramatic basis for the show. Think “1900 House” with lives at stake.

New episodes air at 10 p.m. Tuesdays, with repeats throughout the week.
