This time, the bombs land on ‘Jericho’

When CBS canceled the post-apocalyptic drama “Jericho” after its rookie season, the series’ fans rallied and convinced the network to give the show a second chance.

Unfortunately, the fans couldn’t convince anyone else to watch.

Now, “Jericho” will come to an end for good Tuesday night, when the season’s seventh and final episode airs. The second season turned out to be a bust in all regards, with ratings even lower than the first year’s and die-hard fans griping about the increasingly twisted plot lines..

The timing of the cancellation announcement is a little unusual, but there is a reason: “Jericho” producers had crafted two endings for the season: one a cliffhanger in case of renewal, and one that sort of wraps things up in case of cancellation.
