JAN. 3 UPDATE: Congratulations to the Web sleuths, who got every ferreted out every name correctly. Three of the new castaways - Alexis, Michael and Natalie - now live in the LA area. Gee, I wonder why?

CBS will unveil the cast of the next season of “Survivor” tomorrow morning, but why wait? The official unwieldy title of the series is “Survivor: Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites,” which gives us the gist of the season’s twist: A tribe of newbies will take on a tribe of returning castaways.

Regular readers won’t be surprised at the list of returning players, which has been widely known for weeks:

James Clement and Amanda Kimmel, China; Yau-Man Chan, Fiji; Ozzy Lusth, Parvati Shallow and Jonathan Penner, Cook Islands; Cirie Fields, Panama; Ami Cusack, Eliza Orlins, Vanuatu; Jon “Johnny Fairplay” Dalton, Pearl Islands.
