Tamra’s ‘thoughts’ from last week Picking on ‘Real Housewives’
Perhaps realizing the error of their casting ways, the brains behind “Real Housewives of Orange County” virtually ignored Philosopher Queen Tamra Barney in episode three, opting instead for a series of staged events for their “reality” show, including a visit to the home of an even worse Bravo series, “Miami Ink.”
But Tamra’s genius continued to shine through. Her dharma is similar to Buddha’s, but rather ridding ourselves of desire, Tamra tells us to get rid of thinking.
If you don’t waste time on thought, life can be a constant source of surprise. At the neighborhood water-balloon fight, the woman all the cameras were pointing at declares, “I had no idea that I was going to be the biggest target of them all.”
She bankrolls her 21-year-old son, who sleeps all day, drinks all night and had to be coerced into a mechanics training program, and yet is taken aback by his sloth: “I really expected him to be getting up every morning and making phone calls to dealerships trying to get interviews, and he’s done nothing!”
For Tamra and her followers, every day is a mental Christmas.
