Joey DeVilla over at ‘Adventures of Accordion Guy in the 21st Century,’ is on a kick posting stills from ‘Simpsons’ episodes alongside stills from the classic movies from which they were cribbed.

And boy do the animators love the classics! Hitchcock is referenced in scenes from ‘Psycho,’ ‘Vertigo’ and ‘North By Northwest.’ You get scenes from ‘The Godfather,’ ‘The Shining’ and ‘A Clockwork Orange.’

Since his initial posting, he’s followed up with more comparisons — ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,’ ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ and ‘Pride of the Yankees.’

In-jokes and obscure pop culture references are all part and parcel of what ‘The Simpsons’ writers love to do. Thanks to Accordion Guy, you get a fun peek behind the curtain at some of the scenes that inspire them.
