We all love Tim Gunn, the exasperated father figure to the contestants on “Project Runway” - picture a better-dressed, gay Ward Cleaver.
His new show, “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” sort of debuts on Bravo tonight at 10. Unfortunately, it appears to be a second-hand version of “What Not to Wear,” complete with a Stacy London-wannabe co-host, Veronica Webb. I say “sort of debuts” because we got a sneak peek last night, when Bravo aired the second episode after “Top Chef.”
“Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” is not a must-see unless you are a makeover-show addict (not that there’s anything wrong with that.) But here’s a reason to tune in tonight. The contestants for season four of “Project Runway” will be introduced at some point during the show, according to the web site Reality Blurred.
“Project Runway,” of course, is a must-see. The start date for season four has not been formally announced, but expect to see it in November.
The Watcher adds: Fashion blogger Katherine Nguyen, who dresses much better than I do, likes Gunn’s show a lot more. You can read what she has to say here.

Ha, yep, I still stand by what I said, based on the sneak preview Wednesday, hafta watch again tonight to see if my initial impression holds up. TGGTS just seems to move along more fluidly than WNTW. Plus, Stacy London kind of annoys me — she reminds me of Fran Drescher.
