I sincerely hope the Watcher’s persistent flogging has turned you into a regular viewer of this series. It’s the kind of drama you expect from HBO, not AMC.

“Mad Men” beautifully captures the world of America in 1960 - when sexism, racism and non-stop smoking were the norm. But it’s not the differences with contemporary life that are striking, it’s the similarities.

At the core, “Mad Men” is about the characters’ everyday struggle to find a place in a world that doesn’t quite seem to fit them.

New episodes air at 10 p.m. Thursdays, with frequent repeats throughout the week.
