With the pending arrival of “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County,” we’ll welcome a whole raft of new OC reality-show stars. To celebrate, the Watcher has named the Eight Greatest OC Reality Stars. We’ll unveil one a day through Aug. 15.
NO. 5 - JESSICA BOWLIN, “The Bachelor” season five
Few reality stars get the kind of attention from their stints that Jessica did in the spring of 2004.
It wasn’t jut being on ABC every Monday night; after she was selected by Bachelor Jesse Palmer as the winner of the romance competition, Jessica and her football-playing hunk ended upon the covers of People and US Weekly.
Of course, that sort of attention has its downside. So it was national news a few weeks later when the romance fizzled and the couple announced their breakup. Through it all, Jessica showed uncommon grace for a 22-year-old. By the fall, she was dating a professional hockey player and heading back to law school.

The countdown so far:
NO. 6 - KAYSAR RIDHA, “Big Brother 6,” “Big Brother All-Stars”
NO. 7 - SARAH JONES, “Survivor: Marquesas”
NO. 8 - LAURI WARING, “The Real Housewives of Orange County”
I can’t wait to see where Jo De La Rosa from “The Real Housewives of Orange County” falls on your list. I understand she is about to release her albumn through Immergent Records and she and her on again off again former fiance are working on a new pilot for NBC.
I also read her music is so good, they asked her to write the theme song for her new show. It would be interesting to see is this girl manages to cross over from reality nightmare to legimate artist.
Keep up the good work.

Mark: Thanks for the update on Jo. Will be interesting to find out if she has authentic talent as a singer. No reason she couldn’t.
As for placement on the list, I’m only allowing one entry per show, so she will have to stand as 8B. I probably should have named all six of the Housewives collectively instead of just picking on Lauri Waring. Blame Mickadeit.
