With the pending arrival of “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County,” we’ll welcome a whole raft of new OC reality-show stars. To celebrate, the Watcher has named the Eight Greatest OC Reality Stars. We’ll unveil one a day through Aug. 15.

NO. 7 - SARAH JONES, “Survivor: Marquesas”

There have been a number of “Survivor” contestants with strong Orange County ties - Cook Islands winner Aras Baskauskas, Deena Bennett (Amazon), Christa Hastie (Pearl Islands), Katie Gallagher (Palau) - but only two were residents when their shows aired: Sarah Jones and Brady Finta (Vanuatu).

Both had short stays, but Sarah’s was much more memorable. Her Cleopatra-like arrival at the Maraamu beach, the “show-mance” with Boston Rob Mariano, her role in ousting fan favorite Hunter Ellis - Sarah made good use of her four episodes in 2002.

As “Survivor” had a tendency to do in the early days, it made Sarah briefly famous, leading to appearances on “Playboy: Girls of Reality TV” and “Red Hot,” a special featuring “reality’s hottest stars.”
