With the arrival next week of “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County,” we’ll welcome a whole raft of new OC reality-show stars. To celebrate, the Watcher has named the Eight Greatest OC Reality Stars. We’ll unveil one a day through Aug. 15.
To qualify for consideration, candidates had to be Orange County residents when their shows aired. And I limited the selections to one per series. So without further ado, we unveil …
NO. 8 - LAURI WARING, “The Real Housewives of Orange County”
“Real Housewives,” dedicated to the proposition that money can’t buy class, has proved confoundingly popular through two seasons on Bravo.
It’s hard to single out one of the trash fest’s denizens as the “best,” but Waring has a lot going for her. She’s a Playboy mansion regular and her fiance left another woman for her. But most importantly, fellow columnist Frank Mickadeit - a “Real Housewives” fanatic - named her the worst character on the show. And bad is what the series is all about.

This lady and her kids are a train wreck! That she hooked up with a male version of her is no surprise. The best part is she thinks that people actually LIKE her and admire her, when most are snickering at her absurdity of trying to “compete” with teens and early 20 bunnies at the playboy mansion.
She needs to get a dose of reality real quick. She appears to be a total failure as a mother and leach. Can’t wait to see the additional stupidity of next season.
Stupidity is what makes this show tick!
Lauri Waring’s fiance, George Peterson, did not leave his ex wife and kids for her. He broke up with a girl named (Nicole) who happened to be a lady he was having a 2nd affair with while married to his former wife. Mr. Peterson broke up with Nicole after meeting Lauri Waring and sued Nicole for a $200,000 ring he had given her. The case was settled out of court. Lauri and her fiance are the perfect match. Two people who are completely self absorbed and actually believe they are the hottest couple in Orange County. From what I have read every one of their children have serious issues because of both Lauri and George’s lack of involvment with their children. The two are both failures at parenthood.

Lauri and George are not just self absored, they are totally in denial and perpetuate the ongoing issues with their kids. Failures at parenthood is putting it mildly. Since custody battles are still being fought, and unless the courts decide the Peterson children are to be returned to their mother and the youngest daughter of Lauri Waring is placed in her fathers care permanently, the kids would be far better off raising themselves. That is how pathetic these two people are. All that is important to them is the show and how they are perceived by the public. Two extremely narcisistic people with histories of child neglect, emotional, and even physical abuse. You can find information on the ongoing litigation in the Orange County and Los Angeles courthouses. It is all public information. Declarations provided to the courts and written by three of the Peterson children were discussed by the editor of The Orange County Register, Frank Mickadeit, who attends these hearings, and in turn reports to the public via his articles. In one such article he stated, “Even a bottom feeder such as myself can’t bring myself to disclose what was written by the children or the entire nation would be in tears. Neither Lauri or George care about the emotional state of these kids and continue to fight in a vain attempt to protect their already very tainted public image even though the vast majority of the public have formed opinions based on the “reality” reported behind the Coto Gates scenes.
I looked up the Bravo forum website and couldn’t believe how biased they were toward the Real Housewives comment section. It is now moderator approved only with over 95% of the comments sucking up to the group of people who are on the show. I am glad there are other forums to speak about what a mess these people are; what a waste of good air time and human life. I can’t stand the show! There, I said it! Thanks Pedro for freedom of speach! I will be using the remote this time around to flip the station.

And I think that network chat boards are usually lousy places to get honest discussion of shows. I recommend Fans of Reality TV or Television Without Pity.
Thank you Watcher, I will take your recommendation should I decide to take a peak at Season 3. This show is so outrageously over-the-top ridiculous that I will admit I tuned in to 1: Confirm my own sanity, and 2: See what real stupidity looks like especially in a so-called high end society. I hate to imagine how the kids might turn out when you have such morons raising them. If “Living behind the gates” and spending money to attract attention to oneself is deemed as living the good life, I don’t want any part of it. I bet there is not one happy, contented person on that show when the cameras stop rolling.
George and Luari married at his home Sept 8, 2007. The idiot hired security helicopters to fly over the house during the ceremony and it wasn’t for reasons of security but because of his ongoing and overwhelming egotistical need to impress the viewers. For those who watch the show it will be featured when Season 3 commences which is scheduled to air in the next 2 months. He also has other expensive toys, a Ferrari, to showboat as well. Three of Peterson’s minor children will not be on the show this year. It will be interesting to see how Bravo, George, and Lauri explain their Brady Bunch theory they tried spinning last season. The scrutiny for Season 3 will likely be more intense this year, so it is fortunate the 3 younger kids will not be on the show.
Thank you all for the reality check– these people are completely screwed. I never bought the whole “Brady Bunch” theory– and Lauri runs whenever their is trouble. Her son tried to talk to her at that restaurant last season but she threw all his problems back on him when he was obviously trying to get some connection with her. Lauri is a selfish witch who will eventually disintegrate like Michael Jackson into a pile of bones and non-organic bumps. George is a freaking idiot and I can (and can’t) believe Lauri is with him. What a great example!
LOL! The Lauri-bashers need to get lives, I see they’re still at it. What waste of time and energy! lol…betcha Lauri just laughs and secretly appreciates all the free publicity you give her. lol
If that were true TJ then why is Lauri so hell-bent on defending herself in the media every chance she gets? I do agree how she craves and appreciated all the publicity, but at what price? Someday, although I highly doubt it, she will look back on this and say to herself; WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING, when her son can’t gain meaningful employment because she opened his troubled life on a world-wide scale. Will she still be laughing when her son is so strung out on heroin, as reported, and while she was so distracted by her drive to become infamous that he never recovers? Yes, it is indeed a reality show but Lauri pawned her kids for for her own selfish motives. This show and the majority of the people who are on it is another reminder of how sick our world has become.
I’m sure George is already having an affair..not too hard to change up for a younger, prettier, more intelligent model….as in car.
Well, I think that George and Laurie deserve each other, but man what a way to take the innocence and the love out of children. I was watching the reruns of season 1 and if you are so concerned about your son on drugs, then why did Laurie have that one guy Steve was it at her home and he was using drugs. Her son Josh told her and she did not believe him at first. Way to go Mom…..You talk so much about you, an you alone and your children are so messed up…..I am sorry God mistook you for someone to take care of his precious gifts. Some people should never have children.

i know McKenzie and im going to tell you now she is the most caring, nice, outgoing, person you will EVER meet and thats the truth!
So everybody, get a life, grow up and stop making up rumors about people just because they have something you dont!!!
